While I’d hope that you’re right - and I don’t have the numbers to prove otherwise - my personal experience of speaking to people in Kent and Sussex provides contrary - albeit anecdotal- evidence.

In short the current TCA is likely better and more advantageous for the UK than anything they can currently or are likely to be able to negotiate within the next decade.

Which comes with 4 freedoms, 3 of which Brits viscerally still dislike; so good luck with that.

And there’s the question whether the EU would even be OK with any of that. (Hint: the answer is: not any time soon)

Biggest own goal ever, because that’s proof that they anticipated the danger and didn’t do anything to prevent it. If anything they just increased their liability.

Maybe we should accept his word and give Hungary to Ukraine as part of a “peace deal”. Let’s see how he’d like that. 😂

I think they might want to have a closer look at Louisiana Revised Statutes § 14:81.1. IANAL but I think that might be relevant.

My condolences 💐

Though I do share your joy of seeing sanity return to a degree!

That might be slightly jumping the gun (or into the path of it as the case may be) given the fascists still control the House, the Senate and the Executive.

How? Did you two arm-wrestle and neither accepted the loss?

WTF! Dare I hope you’re doing this just as part of an elaborate Halloween costume?

That was the incident that made me abandon all aims to remain in Britain permanently and attain citizenship.
October 21, 2025 at 4:06 PM
That ship has sailed the moment Shemima Begum’s citizenship was revoked. Citizenship is a covenant between an individual and a state that cannot be revoked one-sidedly. The way this was done basically made clear to everyone that British Citizenship is worthless and the UK not to be trusted.

So much this!

My main issue with these is the announced elimination of TOTP as a 2FA method, because that leaves ZERO methods that are not entirely controlled by big tech corporations, and therefore not a single method that is actually trustable.
October 14, 2025 at 1:05 PM
Plus eliminating TOTP leave no non-corporate means of 2FA. No, Apple, Goole, Microsoft, Yubikey, etc. are NOT trustable.
October 13, 2025 at 6:49 PM
This makes total sense, although it won’t even come close to solving anything.

The painful part here is the future disabling of TOTP, because that leaves not a single trustable 2FA method. (No, closed products my Apple, Google, Microsoft, et al are NOT trustable).

The purpose is for Qatari airforce people to more easily train with and get expertise from the US-Airforce. If they’re there on their own base, they can scale up their training.

Now whether that’s a good thing is …….. questionable.
