Long but worthy read (in JP only though). The comments from Yuzo Koshiro was particularly thought-provoking and probably the first time I have seen him talk about his time at Falcom in any detail.

Long but worthy read (in JP only though). The comments from Yuzo Koshiro was particularly thought-provoking and probably the first time I have seen him talk about his time at Falcom in any detail.

My Direct thoughts:
- DQ7 looks great, when I played the OG in at launch my JP wasn't great so it didn't leave much of an impression; looking forward to properly appreciating it this time
- Glad FE got the big slot at the end, and even more glad that they reverted back to the "old-school" FE style

Reaction on the VA cast changes is understandable, although the hysteric over-reaction from the JP "otas" online reconfirms to me that a sizeable bunch here is toxic as hell; even reddit seems heaven compared to this loud-mouth negative minority

Most impressive thing for me was the multi-language HP for Sky FC remake, probably the first time for Falcom and shows that it is serious about the global launch. And the new info is of course welcome too!

For those outside Japan who are wary, the JP Falcom official site has a direct link to this account so it is 100% legit and genuine. Hoping that many people follow this and eventually Falcom will prioritize BS over X!

For those who can read Japanese, I highly recommend the Falcom 2024 AGM summary on mich suzuki-san's blog, with in-depth details of the Q&A session. Plenty of insight both as a gamer and as a business analyst.

Mixed feelings on Ys X (great game with most memorable final boss since Ys I - 3 imho) doing an Atlus, though I understand the commercial reasoning.
Apparently Kondo hinted at a potential upgrade? for those who bought the original during the AGM Q&A, look forward to the official summary to clarify

Falcom are always sound with their trailers and Sky was no different, revised artistic direction was also spot on. Have only played in JP so tempted to do EN this time (and drag my kids in).
Only downside was seeing some diehard Sky fans using this to dis on other arcs, wasn't too cool but oh well

There was actually a huge gamer backlash in JP when Sony announced X will mean Yes and O will mean No (i.e. aligning with Western norm) from PS5 onwards which still exists to this day and as an old gamer based in JP I can relate to that

There was actually a huge gamer backlash in JP when Sony announced X will mean Yes and O will mean No (i.e. aligning with Western norm) from PS5 onwards which still exists to this day and as an old gamer based in JP I can relate to that
Surely there cannot be many non-Japanese people who understands the pain and reward of a goldrush loop marathon in the SNES-era SRW games
I am an oldhead ass gamer.
But the fact that we were out here raw dogging video games. No autosave, no sleep mode, is actually still CRAZY to me looking back on it lol

Playing DQ3 remake with my older one and just wondered if she will have one of these eureka moments like I did with FF4/2 that has the potential to change her life

What got you hooked on JRPGs?
For me it was FF4 (then sold as FF2); specifically when grown-up Rydia appeared to save the PT vs Golbez. To an innocent child that moment completely blew me away and I was never the same afterwards, still a リディア推し to this day.

What got you hooked on JRPGs?

I also play Trails in JP only and when I see EN screenshots or discourse, I do feel a disconnection sometimes, kind of like we are not playing the exact same game. Not good or bad (the spiced up text in EN Daybreak seems fun), just different. Just wondering if others feel similar #kiseki

Query for those EN/JP fluent: which do you choose when playing JRPGs (or even both)?
Been playing DQ3, in JP for myself but also helping my kid who plays in EN, and tbh much of the charm of the JP feels lost in EN. Perhaps the EN has its own charm but as an old-school DQ fan this feels a shame
