I worked for an NPR station in Wyoming. We had a statewide network and oftentimes were the only radio signal. This could hit stations in rural areas harder than the others, since they often get rural access grants and simply don’t have the same donor base as more populated areas to stay afloat.

Tempo is a little faster in Norteño, harmonies are a little different, sometimes Norteño has a sax in addition to the 4-pc they have in common.
