I’m across the street from the estate where Mark Twain lived in Redding, CT, and specifically right across from the house he built for his daughter with epilepsy. She later drowned up the road at the main estate after having a seizure in the bath. The library he founded lives on in the town!

Gentleman in Moscow is amazing. IMO, Towles is up there with the greats in pulling beauty out of less-than-beautiful situations, and his account of a nobleman in exile within his own city in post-revolution Moscow is a perfect opportunity to flex this muscle.
