When we hosted both first-in-nation primaries it was bc we were a purple state & thought to reflect everyday voters. But u could have googled that. Iowan here. Guess you traveled the back roads bc have more than 10 people, including the ones who put food on your plate. We are home of ADA sponsor Tom Harkin and the only state to welcome the Tai Dam refugees. Iowa no longer hosts the first dem primaries, only GOP. Yr post's not elitist at all.

Who are you serving, NPR? Not a single state wants a Minneapolis-style occupation. The federal funding is not coming back any time soon, and you can't court Fox News sponsors and "listeners like me" at the same time.

I think it's irresponsible that Salon published all the names and home addresses of every CEO of a major health insurance company in this article, but it's also refreshing.
