I hope this post gets some answers. I've been using the SoundCore Q30 for almost 2 years now and time comes for some changes. Was eyeing the Sony XM6 for some time, but the reviews got me questioning my choice... Don't know of a better choice though.

If You have Coolify starting Directus is one click. 😉

Definitely. The error handling is superb in Go. My experience is that even if I lean heavily on Cursor or similar tool I'm able to create a proof of concept app (with auth!) in a matter of hours. In a Nextjs as fullstack approach I'm debugging the db config for hours (even when using drizzle).

Go (Echo) + Next.js. can't find a better stack and I'm trying really hard. Coolify rocks as well.

Coolify is awesome. It blew my mind when I tried to add an SSL certificate. I just typed https instead of http in the domain config and it just worked. Highly recommend. I've set up a whole infrastructure on a VPS and it was painless and quick.

Directus offers A LOT for free while self hosting. It even has an SDK for a couple of popular frameworks and it gets the job done quickly. Can recommend.

Can't edit. "It was taking me so much time that I just rebuilt the thing..."
December 8, 2024 at 2:34 PM
... It probably was doable, but it was taking me do much time I've just rebuilt the thing in next

Well I can't tell I've tried it thoroughly, because I've only tried some basic forms and an LLM integration, but I've been annoyed by templ and the DX and I couldn't achieve what I wanted on the front end, I had in mind some more complex animations and interactions...

I'm always wondering why Directus is not as popular as Supabase...
December 8, 2024 at 1:15 PM
To be honest I find it not fulfilling my needs and I went back to a traditional frontend and backend setup in separate repositories - Nextjs and Go.

I actually wanted to reach out to You to get it running, because I've tried different set ups with Coolify (Nixpacks and different Dockerfile settings) and all of those were labeled as "running with problems" and returned 404 to the browser. I'll dm You with the repo link, gotta tweak GitHub setting

Thought so. 😁
I was testing Fiber lately because its performance is off the charts

Is this starter pack being maintained? If so I want to be a part of it. 😅

Do You use a specific framework for Go?
November 30, 2024 at 1:23 PM
I heard that people are shipping it with HTMX and have some success, haven't seen a Go app with React yet though.

But I'm leaning to Your point of view more I guess. Pure Go as backend and Next for front end makes a lot of sense.

Have You tried Go with React embedded in it? I was curious how robust and SEO friendly this solution would be...

I have to test this. Just tried to deploy a PoC in SvelteKit to my Coolified VPS and stumbled upon so many build errors that I just gave up. The DX was better than Nextjs, but the shipping process is just awful... I need to GO I guess.
