This is the canary in the coal mine. They will come for queer, POC, and disabled folks next. And white women - they will eventually strip your rights too in case you need a reason to care.

Don’t make excuses for supporting this under the guise of protecting women and girls who play sports - it’s disingenuous and a thinly veiled excuse to demonize and legalize cruelty against people who are not cisgender.

Denied acceptance to college for being trans. Denied public accommodation for being trans. The list goes on. The stripping of these civil rights will kill people. That’s not hyperbole - it’s fact.

But instead, Iowa is making it legal to discriminate against them (or anyone they suspect might be trans). This means someone can be fired for being trans. Can get passed over for a job for being trans. Denied housing for being trans.
