At the next public release I need to work on my facial expressions. I look so intense, when really I was just trying to figure out where we were going with the very heavy seal.

I somehow managed to never be looking at the camera. It was such a great day releasing six grey seals! I also loved answering questions about the seals, especially from the kids! My favorite seal, Tillie, was part of the release (pictured). All of these seals were entangled in marine debris

We released six of our rehab grey seals today, including my favorite girl! I’m so thrilled and thankful to have a small part in getting these seals well and back to the ocean

Yesterday I helped prepare and said goodbye to most of our sea turtles, who went down south for release. I’ll miss them but I’m glad they’re back in the ocean. After the turtles left, I spent the rest of the afternoon in seal clinic 🦭

Yes, I know you’re not supposed to get too attached to the seals, but I can’t help it. Out of the 10 in clinic today, the pup from the severe entanglement last week continues to be my absolute favorite seal. I just adore her, and I think everyone else agrees

Marine debris and ghost fishing gear are a persistent and serious threat to marine life. This seal is one of two entangled grey pups found in my area just this week alone.
Thankfully both were found in time and are recovering in the clinic.

I spent most of my day today with the sea turtles. They’re such interesting animals and I’m really enjoying working with them! I did make it into the seal clinic at the end of the day though and spent a little time with the grey pups (which always makes me happy) 🦭
