While I was able to talk to her, I felt badly that I couldn't fully keep up. She should have more support in her own language. She shouldn't have to beg people to learn ASL so she can be better understood. It's exhausting existing in a foreign language & never getting to relax into your own.

Someone mentioned to me that she sometimes got frustrated/angry with people trying to interact with her. Turns out nobody else that she works with knows ASL. OF COURSE she gets frustrated, nobody knows her language. Can you imagine not having anyone be able to talk to you in your language?
