My hot take is that the best Rankin/Bass Christmas special is without a doubt Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July. It has everything you could want: celestial baddies, a top-tier villain, snow dragons, circus folk, and a backstory for why Rudolph’s nose was red.
