Maybe I'm confused, but the tariffs are on Canadian goods. Unless I haven't kept up and we're retaliating with that? That doesn't make sense. Just buy Canadian!

Lucky thing Office365 works just fine on the web, for about 95% of what even admins would need. Yes, there are some instances where a template comes from "on high" that needs to be used for a specific job, but most of it is just inertia.

Well, having been working on education for the past Twenty years, I can confidently say: YES! The real question is how do schools manage to waste so many resources on Microsoft?

Absolutely! Hell, I'd be happy if all the schools using Chromebooks at least acknowledge they are Linux Desktops!

I work in education, and the majority of desktops already run Linux. Oddly, the holdouts seem to be the admin staff.

M$ did state that they can cut you off of updates at any time in the future. And Windows is the last thing I'd want to see go without updates. Remember the Vista years?

But they're always fixing (and making) bugs. Honestly, it's worse than a rolling release Linux. To continue your thought: M$oft gets rid of: Window 98, I switched to Linux. 😊 Yeah, it took a while to get Proton and Wine working for games I really wanted, but I actually enjoy the stability far more.

Kind of impressed by how well they do with Aurora Play Store or Google Play store. I use mine mostly for reading, but responsiveness is better than my Samsung A6.

I've had second thoughts on this answer. Can you tell me what new and exciting features Windows 11 has that you can't achieve with Windows 10?

Actually, I'm a network administrator. And it all depends on what you actually do with your computer. I haven't tweaked any drivers or had to install anything from source. Apt is an amazing tool that is finally making its way to Windows (Winget) and many of my colleagues finally see the benefits.

Last year, when I was cleaning out my storage, I came across an old floppy disk box labeled "dAd's BoX". I hooked up a USB to floppy drive to take a look at some of the floppies inside. Anyone remember the game Cannon Fodder?

Well, I'll bet my experience has just been different from yours, and I'm sorry for that. Not like Crowdstrike ever screwed a few Windows PCs, or random updates ever kept me from my "gaming time". No system is perfect, but at least on Linux, you have some say.

Oddly, I find xbox.com to play amazingly well for Fortnite!

I found installing a recent Ubuntu Install USB cleaned all that crap off for me. There really is no need to move to Windows 11. 😊
