You will note that I'm not rushing to the defense of the New Thing either - I won't be using it because it doesn't work for *my* needs, and I am wary of the issues folk are raising. I just think it's worth maybe seeing whether it does actually help folk or not before we condemn it.

Funnily enough the exact same thing that happened to stimulant meds - now rich kids can still buy and sell as much Adderall as they please whereas poor people with ADHD are stuck rationing and fighting for repeats.

...surveillance and persecution of trans folks, I can understand why many don't want to take the risk of getting involved in very traceable links to illegal activity.

Like yes, not technically committing a crime to own it. But it's still participating in a crime to purchase it & it involves working with pharmacies that are willing to commit said crime (and thus are less provably safe overall). And I'm all for "be gay do crimes" but given the current state of...

Technically correct (provided you can prove you're only buying for personal use) but it's an unhelpful black-and-white way of thinking to say that just because the buyer isn't technically committing a crime, that the law doesn't massively affect transmasc folks' ability to safely and affordably DIY.

This may be my inner chaos cowboy talking, but depending on the size of the setup could you contain everything in a big tub so if it does explode, it's all exploded in the one place?
