I sunk so many hours into the 3DS port. The 3D effect really made those super scaler games from Sega come alive.

The music in this game as you go through the overhead maps. It haunts me. It will always haunt me. It will be the sound I hear when I know the time of my departing this mortal existence has come…..

But the theme in the normal levels is a banger though!

A parallel evolutionary line that terminated with TimeSplitters while the PC style of FPS eventually took over consoles.

As someone who was the sole PC gamer among Nintendo friends, I encountered this thinking a lot back in those days. I could see how if you only had access to consoles, GoldenEye would seem like a big deal, but it always felt to me like a parallel line of evolution to PC FPS.

I remember liking this movie as a little kid, wanting to pick up the video game, reading the back of the box in the store which proclaimed there was a total of 68 levels, and then suddenly feeling overwhelmed and losing all interest.

Bought it as kid with birthday money after it was discontinued and at clearance prices. Loved Mario Tennis and Galactic Pinball but had no other games. Mario tennis actually taught me tennis. Never had problems with headaches or visions back then but I’m terrified of what it could do to me today.

Honestly, I think this was the best of the ones on Genesis. This and the title screen that follows made the Genesis feel way more futuristic than it actually was.

Chrono Trigger makes 1995 tempting, but all three of those from 1994 are games that I find myself wanting to revisit at least every few years.
