Sharing some of my thoughts from the other site but man I'm really pissed off about this shit.

I'm saying all this as someone who works at a company that *is* pushing hard on AI use btw. I know what it's like to be forced to use a slop tool (and then ignore it to do things yourself, because you're a professional who can obviously do it better.)

also fire the writers who use chatgpt for placeholder text and hire people who are actually willing to write. lol

I hope all this pushback leads to an AI ban at the studio though. Maybe that's wishful thinking but it sounds like it would be.... really easy to cut it out of their process

the placeholder text part also sounds like he lets writers use AI if they want, but doesn't make them. IMO it's crazy to hire writers who rely on AI for anything after larian's infamously picky hiring process but that doesn't sound like evil CEO pushing AI use

he did say that they hired a bunch of concept artists who otherwise would have lost their jobs to AI, right? I find it hard to believe that they're actually relying on AI, it kind of sounds like he's just guessing.

Plus if you’re *pushing* your team to use AI and not seeing productivity gains or real impact, that just means you DO NOT NEED IT and could stop using it at any time. You’re just choosing to feed the machine that makes the world worse because fuck everyone else I guess?

also just to be clear: THERE IS NO """ETHICAL""" USE OF GEN AI. AT ALL.

Again I say: how fucking interesting that remote work technology is bad and not worth adopting despite all research pointing to productivity gains, but genAI which offers NOTHING is so important to adopt and force on people who have no use for it despite all the horrible things genAI does
