Ultimately I don't know what I want LMAO, I think PRs downfall has been their penny-pinching methodology, but I also think their new series better find a way to better market and stay afloat just to keep it alive. Just hoping for a world where both can exist 🤞

Not saying that PR shouldn't be for kids, I would never been introduced to the franchise if it weren't, but I think the writing has to strike a chord in a variety of audiences otherwise the series is going to die. Even with how relatively cheap the series is to make, I imagine they're struggling.

Kind of unrelated to how sentai seems to be more fun and campy, I'm hoping the new reboot will take a more serious tone. Unless we lean heavy into fun territory, PR isn't competing with Bluey or Paw Patrol anytime soon, so they need to reevaluate who they want their audience to be

On a more positive note though, really hope we can see this shift in PR. The whole pitch of the PR franchise is inherently parasitic so I think it'll always be a step down from sentai, but maybe the new original series Disney+ thing will take it in an interesting direction

I really want to get into ones whose PR adaptation i watched or enjoyed so I can compare the two and their story lines.
Usually PR does it worse or fumbles hard (gosieger/gokaiger) but i heard RPM takes a much more interesting storyline than go-onger

i think western audiences can handle it, but the producers are both too lazy and risk-averting to do anything like that
also correct me if im wrong but sentai follows more male-heavy casts, which i dont really like. i know the show is targeted towards boys, but i like representation 🤷♂️
