To me the part about not being able to recommend it is the part of tbe question I emphasizedin my brain. I love xenoblade 2 wholeheartedly, but I know that a lot of people will wind up hating it for its faults and I can't blame them

Xenoblade 2. It's a terrific game, but all its worst qualities are frontloaded. The tutorials suck, there's a bunch of terrible generic anime humor, and the combat is terribly slow before you unlock the ability to chain arts. Plus it's a jrpg for 100hr long jrpg fans so it's niche past all that

If it looks too close to a finished product, people working on the project may forget to put in an actual texture. GenAI only makes stuff that looks finished because finished art is the vast majority of what its trained on. "Placeholder art" is just an excuse
