Why is this crossing a line? Genuinely curious how it differs from GTA, which has gotten increasingly realistic and violent since 1997.

Before that, Splatterhouse, in which you play a masked murderer just going around killing. And there are other games even more depraved.

I'm late to this, but was there at least a facade of rationale given? Or is it just climate change denier bs?

(Sports should be cut before anything of a genuine academic nature.)

They're never far from my mind, but today they we're accutely thought about 🤣

Yeah, I don't have that much shits-and-giggles money.

FYI, their music is available for download on their site on a "name your price" structure--so you can theoretically get it for $0.

For old people like me (and cool, retro kids), they also sell a CD.

So, is Trout Mask Replica an appetizer for you? :)

FWIW, the Surfers' lead singer Gibby Haynes was in another band (with Johnny Depp and Flea) named P--and they released a song titled "Die Anne."

So he does have a lyrical history of playing with "die" and "Diane"...

For masochists only, search "Italian Brainrot Advent Calendar"

I'm thrilled to be old enough to have unknowingly avoided such nonsense for as long as I have, though, there is an element of absurdism in it that's appealing.

Pretty sure Muskies is the only band from Utah for which I've listened to a complete album :)

Not only completed it, but enjoyed it from start to finish!

Oh, their spirit is also reminiscent of the Czech act Blaq Mummy, which is huge, fun praise IMO.

Do I also note a dash of Fishbone and an allusion to Prince? Interesting... ❤️

On my first listen to their self-titled album, I also taste some Helmet, Bowie and King Gizzard.

Not only do they have a song called "Nancy Reagan" (lol) but they cover "Rainbow Connection"!

I don't know the ages of Muskies members, but feel like this music was made precisely for Gen X brains.

Ok, I think that might be the exact item I was referring to!

In the 50s/60s, there was a whole industry selling citizens handheld Geiger counters with the promise of finding uranium ore and getting rich.
Few years ago, my wife found a really cool one that looked like a space-age raygun. We passed that along to an acquaintance who collected them.

Flavor-wise, just re: hot peppers, I think my favorites are Caribbean red hot and Scotch bonnet.

Ghost Pepper and anything stronger is nice added to recipes when cooking but adding it to finished meals is, for me, just unnecessary heat. 🤷‍♂️

Curious: How do you grow the peppers--in-ground outside or in pots indoors/outdoors? What's been the most successful?
December 9, 2025 at 8:29 PM
🤷‍♂️ I only got it because it was on clearance at my local grocery store for less than $2 :)

While I'm glad I tried it, I wouldn't pay full price ($6.99) because a bottle won't last long in this house.
