Last night I finished my Hotel Dusk experiment (DIY & freeform) in three sessions. The first session was great, the second wasn’t so good and left me with a lot of doubts. However, in the third and final session, everything came together, and worth it. Playing with the OST helps immensely.

Yesterday, I finally played the Hotel Dusk solo TTRPG (my own freeform ver.) and I really enjoyed it 🖤. In fact, tonight I’ll be playing session 2 🕵️. I wrote some d66 tables to create characters and locations, and a d100 events table that I roll whenever I change locations. No prep, just a premise.

ATTACK: 3d6 and choose a combination to exceed 8+ to hit, using the third die to apply damage. It sounds strategic, and I was enchanted by the idea... 🖤 but thinking it through, I’m not sure there’s any real strategy here, because you always just pick the optimal option (preceded by chance). 🎲
