I’ve redone my Halo Spartan! Recently I rediscovered my enjoyment for Halo 3, so I used the Mark VI Kit and the Rogue Helmet that appeared there. The result is similar to the multiplayer Spartans in Halo 3, with some modern armor thrown in for good measure!

Bungie has revealed Destiny 2's Winter Expansion: Renegades...

If you couldn't tell from the lightsaber, this is a Star Wars-inspired DLC. I hate this collab bullshit, where games forego their artistic identity for cheap fanfare. We've seen this with Fortnite, and now Destiny is following suit.

Also side note, but can the players not turn into pixels and leave a duffel bag upon death? This game needs to simulate the visceral experience of picking someone's corpse for loot. I get it's gory, but sanitizing that violence detracts so much from the brutal and inhumane nature of Tau Ceti IV.

This could lead into a separate conversation about player trading, but it would also be neat if there was a market where you could sell these trinkets. I could easily see a player economy forming around this, with the trinkets of famous players (like streamers or YouTubers) being the most valuable.

These trinkets could be lootable upon death, just like in the cinematic trailer. Thus emphasizing that the shell you just dispatched is separate from the rest. You didn't just kill Void, Glitch, or Blackbird, you killed an artificial body housing the consciousness of a runner like yourself.

In the cinematic trailer, we see the runners carrying trinkets from their past lives. The leg of a broken doll or a childhood photo. It would be really cool if we could select and customize an item like that in-game. Have it function as a form of Player ID akin to an emblem or banner.

I was not expecting to get Water as my result, but here’s a trainer and team themed around it! Most of the Pokémon I simply chose because they’re my favorite Water Types, but since many of them have dual typings I hopefully won’t get shredded by Electric or Grass Type moves 🤞

Bionicle 2024 - Year End Review

Here's a look at all of the major Bionicle Mocs I completed in 2024, including some I haven't shared online yet! I'm very happy with what I've made in 2024, but I've set a goal to build more in the new year. Let's hope that comes to fruition!

I got some new Skylanders! I now have all 32 original characters from Spyro’s Adventure, and everything I need to complete Trap Team.

Jikara, The Thunderhawk

A Core War Era Toa of Lightning, Jikara uses her jet boosters to unleash aerial attacks upon the enemies of Spherus Magna. Equipped with missile pods and a Mask of Power Scream, she packs a thunderous punch!

Yeah, that all checks out. I should really do another playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 at some point. I rushed a bit the first time playing, and I didn't get as much out of the ending as I probably could have. It's a great game, but feels scarily close to home given the state of the world right now.

This is a render of my Halo Spartan made by my good friend @xezzame.bsky.social (follow her she's really cool)! The pose was inspired by this artwork from the Halo 3 Game Manual. #halo #halospotlight

That's all from me, so I hope you enjoyed learning about my version of the Brotherhood! My goal was to find a middle ground between the original mythology of Mata Nui and Makuta as brothers, and the retcon to include other Makuta. Let me know your thoughts!

Norik is one example of these Hagah Guardians. After his best friend Varian was captured and put in stasis by the Dark Hunters, Norik lost his faith in Mata Nui. In his eyes, Mata Nui wasn't there to protect Varian, so he turned to the Makuta to protect those he cared about.

Even Toa would join their ranks to become Hagah Guardians. Due to the Brotherhood's fascination with shadow, these Toa would have their spirits corrupted, augmenting their Elemental Powers. Similar to the Shadow Matoran from 2008, their armor is stained black in certain areas.

The Brotherhood of Makuta was formed, consisting of those who had also become disillusioned with Mata Nui. High-ranking members were allowed to enter the pool of Antidermis, casting off the forms given by Mata Nui to be reborn in the image of Makuta. These Disciples are the other Makuta from 2008.

Seeking freedom from Artakha, Teridax went with Velika to Destral, finding a pool of Antidermis. Teridax submerged himself in the Antidermis, transforming him. Henceforth, Teridax would be known as the Makuta. Named after the Matoran word for shadow, he lives perpetually in the shadow of Mata Nui.

Teridax and Tara-Nui were one and the same, but Teridax's memories were still incomplete. Teridax didn't know of the second robot and its cancellation, assuming that Mata-Nui had stolen his rightful place as ruler of the Matoran Universe. Attempting to sow chaos, Velika would not correct this.
November 30, 2024 at 12:03 AM
During the construction of the Great Spirit Robot, there had been plans to construct a second, brother robot. Alongside Mata-Nui, an AI named Tara-Nui was created to pilot this automaton. But when this second robot was canceled, this AI was implanted in a Matoran chassis and its memories wiped.
November 30, 2024 at 12:03 AM
Eventually, Teridax met an eccentric Po-Matoran named Velika, who was secretly a Great Being in disguise. Using his powers, Velike scrambled Teridax's mind, unearthing memories of a life long gone. As it turned out, Teridax was more than the exploited engineer Artakha had made him to be.
