For clarity this is a cuddle cushion. Humped back and two arm rests. This one is football themed in blues and greens. I first got one when I had heart surgery in 2021. So comfy when you need to rest your elbows instead of stretching your arms which hurt at the time. When grandkids come over they fight for my cushion even now! 🙄 They can read in bed with it or put in on the sofa. Reading time !

One large and one smaller portion of soup cooling for the freezer. One in foil and the other in a plastic tub. The soup is bright orange. Carrot and sweet potato with paprika! But spicy too as I’ve added some chilli 🌶️ flakes.

It’s just gone 7am when this was taken so it’s a bit dark. Some evergreen bushes with snow lying on the grass. In the foreground are steps down to the patio with a little horned devil looking fed up. That’s his default expression so don’t worry about him.

Colouring in for adults!! 😁
A swirly line drawing with sections coloured in in pencil. Felt tip pen over original lines in black with corners blacked out. After turning it upside down I realised it looked like a curled up snake so I gave it sight, voice, hearing and smell.

3 tubs of red cabbage with red onions, cranberries and apples. Smell o vision required but just think Xmas dinner! Foil tins. One larger one and two smaller ones. Two foil tubs of cauliflower and broccoli cheese topped with grated mature cheddar . Ready for the freezer when cooked.

6 tubs of ratatouille to go in the freezer. Red spatula to the left. I like it with mushrooms, peppers, red onions, courgettes, tomatoes and aubergine. The prep of the veg took ages!! It goes with anything and great with pasta. These three bags of parsnips are cooling for the freezer. Parboiled in veg oxo cube water for 5 mins. Honey added to the bag then massaged in. Two tubs of stock saved from parboiled parsnips which I will use for gravy on the day. The red spatula is on the left. I write the date and the name of everything on the lids otherwise it’s a freezer surprise! 2 packs of parboiled and honeyed carrots ready for the freezer. Red spatula to the left. Yes. I like my red spatula.

Home made vegetable soup with my own tomato sauce, made last week, in it.
Going to leave this one chunky and eat with thick white crusty bread and butter.

Vegetable soup made with carrots, onions, green beans and potatoes. Basically what I had in the fridge. The base is a tomato sauce made last week- see previous post- and tinned tomatoes and stock. It’s a bright red and chunky with the green beans and carrots. Also chilli flakes and Italian herb mix.

Just made another Bara Brith. It always turns out delicious and everyone likes it.
My Xmas cake on the other hand doesn’t get eaten. They don’t like marzipan or icing.
I have a cunning plan! Dried cranberries in my next Bara Brith and a Santa 🎅 on the top!

Bara Brith 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 which translates to Speckled Bread. Made this morning. It’s in my cake tin covered in baking paper left open for the photo. The tin lid is on the table and seems to match my wipe clean tablecloth colours. Greys and yellows.

Lots of garlic from my neighbours garden and thyme sprigs.
All roasted with black pepper and salt flakes.

Pretty tray of tomatoes cut in half on baking paper. Thyme sprigs and garlic cloves with S&P Roasted and cooled. Then blitzed in a glass bowl ready for the fridge or freezer. Makes a wonderful bright orange colour.
