I haven't looked it up but Galactic Nova appears prominently in the story mode from the start, in fact you see it in the intro so I guess you end up fighting it?

It's not super bad if the display has an integer multiple of 50hz as its refresh rate but boy, 50hz on a 60hz screen is hell.

The Army Men games? There were way too many of those.

Maybe calling her a bounty hunter was something the manual writers invented?

Recently started playing Metroid Prime 2 again, that game actually starts with the contract between Samus and the Federation.

Going through all the credits on Mobygames, all of them remained with Konami. From what I heard it was made after Treasure split off from Konami and it and Rocket Knight Adventures were games Konami made to show it didn't need those Treasure guys.

TBF it's also taking cues from Contra Hard Corps which is also more boss rushy than regular Contra because Konami specifically wanted to go for the same style as Treasure.

Eh, I don't think you need a health bar if you get the hit reactions right otherwise. Health bars often feel like more of a crutch for lacking better feedback. IMO a good health bar implementation is Frogmonster, it only shows the boss health when you die so you know how close you were.
November 11, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Yeah, as Vlambeer has stated, hit reactions are extremely important for games. Nuclear Throne is a demonstration of that concept.

Lots of odd looking games in that Tokyo Game Dungeon sale that's linked from there too. Bit Oz is neither new nor discounted but looks like a deckbuilding ball x pit?

Wonderful 101 is unexpected, I thought that was a relatively short game.

And of course if Patrick hasn't played Exit 8, that's definitely one to try. They're even making a movie out of it.

The only mascot horror where you could actually believe that these mascots weren't designed to be horror enemies first and foremost.

Good to hear, it sure took them a LOT of attempts to make a successor to Burnout, akin to how many failed attempts at a successor to Jagged Alliance 2 there were.

That's a pretty old one, looking at what people say about VR that probably won't work well. It barely clears the minimum requirements MS lists for VR.

That depends on which i5. They've used that moniker for over a decade AFAIK.
