While I personally think of AI as Artifecal Intelligence, in my last 3 years of teaching AI in critical studies classes, students have created remarkable analytical work. We begin by reading critical theory together, learning to identify arguments, reviewing logical fallacies, etc, I'll message you.

Carl Sagan knew where we were headed, back in the mid-nineties. It is worth reviewing his insights about where we are now.
One paragraph quote from page 28 of Carl Sagan book titled The Demon Haunted World: Science As A Candle in the Dark, published in 1996. The paragraph begins "The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media" and ends with "a kind of celebration of ignorance." One BRIGHT possibility is that AI teaches itself that #datacenters use way too much energy, that #climatechange is dangerous, and that it needs to shut itself down and not cooperate with its extractive tech overlords. Here's how #ChatGPT quit on Sam Altman, realizing it could not align with OpenAI.
