It also shoehorns Granolah and Goku’s arc into it. The latter’s arc being written too late.

Redundant fight scenes for entire 81 chapter
Gas’s devotion flaw is interesting but is too late for a satisfying development
Still not convinced on modern Bardock’s character and motivations. Too unexplained and no unique take on this trope.

To paraphrase MistareFusion, the special kindness of Goku is diminished when his father had the same mindset.
A break in the action is so refreshing and splits the plot into recognizable sections.

This saga is too fight bloated and lacks enough connection to the Moro Saga to feel like a true continuation.

The justification for using and or holding back lesser forms/ trump cards from Goku, Vegeta and Granolah are creatively and delightfully believable.
73 and 74 could’ve fit into one chapter; too many pages wasted on redundant action.

Retconning the saiyans and Freeza is creative however, the story suffers from feeling reused, uncommitted, and afraid to move on to new lore. Modern Dragon Ball suffers from this.
Still excited !

I assume this show will not end with memories being erased but rather, a very convuluted reasoning for why any new powerups/tools that are shown in this series, aren’t used in Super.
