I’m in that boat, and me and my colleagues don’t speak for all federal workers but it’s hard to see much daylight between the status quo and a shutdown when everyone is scared for their jobs

Im not minimizing bc I’m one of them, and I’m worried. And I’m not saying that my situation is the same as everyone’s, just agreeing that it shouldn’t be a third rail

Shutdown would have to be more than weeks to miss a single paycheck and there are plenty of resources to get federal credit union loans for 0% interest. Obviously a long shutdown would be tough but it’s not that dire for employees
