But, I had a similar thought when he did the interview with Yudkowsky. He seemed very deferential to his points about AI advancement, which seemed to conflict with videos Hank put out before and after that seemed much more realistic (and negative) about AI. Some pushback would have been good.

I wondering if partially this is a split between him and whoever is writing the sci-show episodes. I'm not saying that because he is perfect, but because in his Hanks Channel videos he has recently been pretty negative about AI and how it seems to be a bunch of hype.

Not that this let's him off the hook but I wonder if this could be a situation similar to when Kate Mulgrew (and some well-known scientists) were tricked I to being part of a documentary advocating for a Geocenteric universe.
Might not support it, just didn't do due diligence.

I remember watching a couple episodes on TV and while the art looked cool the show was just dull and bad
Then a friend showed me the original subbed version...what! Why, would they do that!?

It's possible I'm missing something, I have not seen all the reporting, but I want to be careful about misinformation.

This looks to be an inter-catholic fight more so than a church vs state one.

Heads up, I'm from the Boston area and I've seen conflicting reporting on this. Lots of headlines saying that ICE is ordering it taking down, but most of the quotes seem to be him simply saying he was against it, no actual order.
The person who did order it removed was a higher ranking priest.

I think part of this is that there is an unsaid skill that teachers forget about and GTP allows you to bypass. "Reading" isn't one thing. Sometimes you need to read 30 pages straight through, sometimes you need to skim looking for key points. But if a teacher says "read chapters 3-6" it's not clear.

The importance of having named mechanics.

I played OG Metroid 2, AM2R, and Samus returns in that order over the course of like 2 years and it was interesting seeing different takes on the same core structure/setting, especially their endings.

The main problem is that space telescopes in Low Earth Orbit share the similar orbits as the telecommunication satellites.

Here we show a simplified representation of the increased orbital crowding between 1958 (Sputnik) and the projected satellite population at the end of the next decade.

From over in the US that is the scary part. It seems like a lot in the UK were trying not to, "won", and still got all this.

Yeah, I'm biased because Prime 1 was the first Metroid game I beat (had played Metroid and Super Metroid but didn't beat until later). I have a soft spot for the series so I figure I'll probably like it it even if not 10/10 (although that didn't stop me from dropping Other M almost immediately).

I will go to bat for Echos. If I had to rate them I would likely still put Prime first, but they are both great games (although the ending item crawl in both could have been better).

Corruption...I have more mixed feelings about. Enjoyed it, but clearly not as good as the first two.

But didn't the "not wheelchair basketball" game use both joycons? So, the functionality should be there, it's just not enabled.

I feel it is close to 50-50 games that I enjoy watching him play because I will never buy and play myself (mostly City Builders) and games that often stop watching because I want to get them myself and don't want to ruin it.

True, and I'm kind of trying to steelman this, which is hard knowing so little about the article.

If you think strict gender roles are important there are still big questions about the value of individuality vs tradition, is any action to enforce gender roles ethical, and if not what is the line, are there times when exceptions to typical gender roles okay?

Yeah, there is a potential "good" version of the essay that goes into comparative morality and tries to actually debate the text, but as written it doesn't really do that. Or at least I don't think it does, because the essay was very vague about what the original article actually said.

It definitely has some OG Dragon Ball in it's DNA. Not as intense as Akira or Evangelion (its a kids show) but does touch on similar themes of growing up in an unfair world and responsibilities. Also a decent bit of political machinations, especially in later seasons.
