His post reminded me of the Detroit Marathon in 2009. During the race, you run over the bridge into Canada, where everyone smiles and cheers you on, and then back through the tunnel into the US, where you immediately see snipers pointing at you demanding to see your bib#. We've sucked for a while.

Packed away during our last move, but I have a frame with 9 paper breakfast receipts each signed by one of the 1970s-1980s Reds (Johnny Bench, Sparky Anderson, etc.). Zero ties to Cincinnati, but my Grandma's friend waited tables at a diner near their spring training facility and collected them.

Coldest I've ever been at Michigan Stadium was against Purdue in 1995. 5-0 win, and the only time I've ever seen Michigan defer and then elect to kick again to start the 2nd half. Let's hope it's not a repeat of that weather.
