I’d like to build a little “flappy bird” type of game as a fun Xmas experiment. I’m familiar with Expo but not quite sure this is the best way to tackle this? Any lib/module that would work nicely there? @bacon.bsky.social maybe?

My dad gets tons of scams in his gmail inbox, they are obvious to me and should be obvious to the Gmail spam filter but for some reason they still land in his inbox… creating a lot of confusion and a ticking bomb until he falls for one… 🥲

Am I missing something or In App Purchases feel underbaked on #Expo especially compared to the rest of the framework. IAP is core to any business on the app stores and yet… minimalistic documentation on expo and only 2 options one of which is premium (revenue cat).

For anyone looking for a complex document to test an LLM reasoning power, look no further than the IRS Certificate of Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding and Reporting (Form W-8BEN-E). Poor Claude is getting very confused and I've resolved myself to wearing the orange suit..

Adobe pulling a cheeky 70% increase like it's nothing... I didn't realise inflation was still going strong :D - So yes when you cancel you get a "better offer" (60 days free in my case) but that's not quite the same. So cancelled it is.

I've been running 3 simulators for a couple of hours and apparently that's what it takes to finally hear my "old" M1 Pro MBP little cooling fans. I guess the collision calculations on the floating message cards don't help 😅 #Expo #ReactNative

I wish I had the time to write long essays on things like the UX of LEGO interface panels... 😀

The UX of LEGO Interface Panels
LEGO interface panels are beautiful, iconic, and great for learning interface design basics. I bought 52 of them from BrickLink to explore the design, layout and organisation of complex interfaces.

Parents superpowers:
- ability to see the future (see photo)
- hear their own kid cry in a crowded playground or through many walls (mums are the strongest at this)
- can tell precisely the seriousness of injury based on tone of cries
- more or less function on 5 hr of sleep
Anything I missed?

I’d love to play around with making little iOS games like this one (draw on screen to guide the rain drops). I’ve never done anything like it and I’m wondering what are the go to frameworks/ libs for this? If any?

Has anyone seen some good resources on best practice to build mobile app landing/onboarding screens? There are tons of stuff for web landing page but mobile app feels relatively understudied in that regard. Best I found so far is mobbin.com for inspiration but that's about it.

I joined Twitter in 2008 and grew a modest audience there and then (I think topped up at 3-4k which for 2008 wasn’t too shabby). Then nearly two decades went by and 99% of them have left Twitter which essentially means that more people hear me when I talk to myself on the toot than when I tweet 🤣
