On February 15, 1965, Canada’s flag was raised for the first time on Parliament Hill—a bold symbol of unity, pride, and global recognition. Wherever it flies, it represents a nation known for its diplomacy, respect, and strength. As a Canadian living abroad and having worked with the United Nations, I’ve seen firsthand the respect our flag commands. Canadians are known as peacemakers, bridge-builders, and trusted allies. Yet today, we face challenges—our orange-faced southern neighbour—including his enabling cronies—is acting like a bully, using economic and political pressure against us. But Canada does not bow to bullies. On this National Flag of Canada Day, let’s stand tall. Let’s show the world that Canada is strong, independent, and unwavering in its values.
