- Next-gen architectures beyond transformers (solving the quadratic complexity that makes long sequences expensive)

And they matter. They affect:

- Quality of interactions with AI tutors
- Trust in AI-generated information (varies by age and content type)

The "rate my AI teacher" future is coming.

New research shows students are already developing "theories of artificial minds", mental models of how AI works, what it's good for, whether to trust it.

These intuitions form whether we teach them or not.
