Yeah I wanted to second this. The manager, being the higher position, should have a level of training or at least responsibility (relative to the employees below them) to handle the situation. If things get out of hand, then it becomes an issue of “why didn’t a manager (or HR) step in?”

Like, it was maybe *understandable* the first few times. But it's like pressing a button that shocks you the first 10 times & expecting that the 11th time will be any different. Maybe the lesson should've been learned *way* earlier that we should press a different button to achieve a better outcome?
