‘So dull and dark are the November days. The lazy mist high up the evening curled, and now the morn quite hides in the smoke and haze; the place we occupy seems all the world.’ ~ John Clare

Too funny. 😭I’ve come within 15 rows of finishing the dark coloured scarf to realise I’ve gone off in the wrong direction and I’ve had to frog that entire half of the scarf. Which is what comes of not reading the pattern carefully having knitted one and thinking I know what I’m doing. 🧶

A friend is looking for someone to finish this knitting project that her mum was doing when she passed away. It’s a poncho. I thought it was just the neck, but actually it’s only half done and the whole back needs to match this, and then a big cowl neck. I think it’s beyond my skill level 🧶…

Fewer hedgehog visits last night. I think they know a cold snap is on the way. Hopefully they are nesting warm and safe in the hedgehog houses around the garden. 🩷

Standing up to say I get so much joy from the BBC. I live my life around Radio 4, 3, and 6 and BBC2 and BBC4. It’s just part of my life. ❤️

Current WIP - well - it’s three scarves. One is a Rowan (cerise one ball shawl) one is a Louisa Harding Strickmich! In a multi coloured yarn, and one is a mohair and glittery thread held together Sophie scarf in a Rico yarn. These are all Christmas gifts I think. 🧶#showmeyourknits

Wonderful book. I’m lost in these stories of ancient history. I wouldn’t have known about this book but for my Toppings subscription- they always choose well!

Started a new Sophie scarf for day 5 of knitting challenge (for variety’s sake) which is mohair held with a strand of sparkly cotton. 🧶

Last night, Peers voted against Swift bricks: rejecting a simple, proven way to help one of our fastest declining birds recover. ❌

We share @hannahbournetaylor.bsky.social's disappointment & frustration.

The vote came late, but with government refusing to back it, its fate was already sealed.

Remember “out in the day is not okay” - hedgehogs can wake during winter and search for food. They are especially vulnerable at this time to infection and starvation. Please keep an eye out for them. 🩷
