I don't doubt for a second that this is evil in the sense of really bad. Nobody who has any idea what it might be like (probably no one has ever experienced it) to be near the eye of such a storm wants to be there, I'm sure of it.

It is really unspeakably disgusting that there are actually people for whom the opportunity to burn things just for their own personal profit is more important than the well-being of humanity.

If I have understood this correctly, then there was no storm even remotely comparable to the 174 years mentioned by AP, but that is when systematic weather recording began.
It is therefore likely that no one in human history has ever experienced such a storm.
