This is what kicked off the discourse this time around from what I can see. Someone punched down on their delivery person and everyone decided to use PWDs as shields for the exploitation apps, just like every previous time.

It’s also important to note that a quarter or more of the workers who are delivering the food are themselves people with disabilities who are likely to be made more disabled working these apps. Everything from Covid to pulled muscles lugging groceries up the stairs to car accidents.

My grocery store charges the same prices on their app as in store. Delivery is $5 or $10 depending on if you pick a 6 or 2 hour arrival window. They are delivered in a refrigerated company van by an hourly employee. Infinitely better than the DoorDash etc.

They had some amazing macros and buttons in their sheets that would place inventory orders, keep track of cash-outs print out deposit slips, send info to head office, and all kinds of stuff they couldn’t recreate in excel. They ended up buying multiple different software packages to do everything.

I worked for a company that was still using an old version of Lotus 123 in 2010 and it was so much better than any version of excel I have used.
