It's actually really smart. Global economy is sinking pretty quick. Gamers wanting a new game to play are either looking at $20 for a full game, or a $60 plus $15*X in DLC stripped from the game or $60-$80 for a digital game plus another $80-$100 for the storage of the digital game.

$20 please.

Yeah, these key cards combined with low storage are a self made problem. Once the express cards drop dramatically in price (say roughly $35 or so for a TB) then it'll be less an issue.

But they are currently asking $50-$80 a game then the storage is another $70-100.

In this economy? No thanks.

Meaning they didn't. They released a full game, no cash shop, no dlc add-on or removed stuff from the core game to sell later.
Full game, on release, fair price.

Games that don't follow that feel cheap now.

Yeah, the whole paywall thing caused me to cancel my pre-order. I want to see what the complete edition comes with before I even consider buying.
Plus, after Expedition 33 and BG3, games that nickel and dime just feel cheap now.

Maybe $20 plus a cash shop/dlc is fair... IF it's a great game.

No. Not something I would enjoy.

This noise needs "Gin & Juice" playing in the background.

Come on Internet, make it happen!

If you could drop one of those elites this way that'd be great - mine died two weeks ago (cat decided she didn't like it on the bookshelf)...

Same. I was like, "Wait... What?!?" then laughed.

I think they were just being silly for the grins.

I'm just a little no one, but if economic changes are as dire as predicted going forward; gaming might see an Atari level crash & gamers return to more analog means (D&D, Pathfinder, Warhammer, etc).
Video games will have a hard time selling $100 title for 40 hours vs $40 for years of fun.

I don't mind the Rogue-like have unless they throw in deck building with it. Not a fan.
Souls-like though... Instant pass.
