I've messed around in godot before and personally it was a lot easier to get into than unity, I used the 3d mode(?) but it's got 2d as well.. I think a good recent example is webfishing, and as for code, it uses GDScript (I think it also supports C#) but there's p good documentation/tutorials for it

godot imo, when unity tried to do that fee per game install thingy last year it felt like such an insult that I wanted to switch immediately. also godot just feels a lot more usable and polished to me
