For a contrast, watch how good teams guard it...hedge aggressively to prevent switch and sprint back to man and rotate....he makes the shot but its contested at the end of the shot clock. good defense,

Once again, we easily concede the switch KD onto Anfernee...the screen setter doesn't even make any contact and they effortlessly get the switch they want. At that point, what is the point of even having a roster full of good defenders if you concede switches like this w/o making them work for it?

Here's the next play after that, OUT OF A TIMEOUT. You would assume that chauncey would tell them to try something different as it is obvious what the lakers are doing by this point. No contact on the screen, super easy to fight through it, but yet another pointless switch. Another easy bucket.

Very next possession: similar action, Grant can easily fight thru the screen to stay on LeBron but Dame doesn't get the memo (probably because he's following the defensive principles you are supposed to switch 1-4) and a wide open three ensues.

For instance, take this set of plays. There's not even any contact made on the screen and guys can TOTALLY fight thru the screen and prevent the switch yet they continue to allow the mismatch hunting. Watch as lebron just gets lillard's man involved to ISO dame.

Ant setting a ghost screen for Sharpe and getting an open three. I almost want to shed tears of joy. More of this and less contested dribble pull-ups please!!!

Ayton could never dream of setting a screen that created this much separation

@intangble.bsky.social Would like to see more of Anfernee being used as a screener for Scoot. Threat of his shooting can get Scoot downhill, and also opens up some cool possibilities with Ant ghost screen for open shots.

Too much standing around off the ball in the half court.
