But, fundamentally, we are an organisation that advocates for political and electoral integrity, democracy and respect for the rule of law. Leaving a platform whose owner holds these values in contempt is part of that advocacy.

I understand the argument that, by leaving, civil society organisations are abandoning an audience that wants/needs to hear our message. For us, this doesn’t hold much water as our audience has largely left Twitter/X. I suspect the exodus will continue. Perhaps that’s a privileged position to be in.
