Today we say goodbye to Jens after handling our public outreach for more than 5 years. While we're sad to see him leave we are optimistic to see more chances to work together in the future.

Il y a 2 jours j'étais au Cap Blanc-Nez (c'est très chouette !)
Avec @phyphox.org et les coordonnées GPS, j'ai mesuré une altitude d'environ 170 m par rapport à l'ellipsoïde (WGS84) et un α = 0.52° en visant l'horizon
Ce qui donne un rayon de la Terre de
170×cos 0.52/(1-cos 0.52) ≈ 4100 km

Did I collect accelerometer data using @phyphox.org riding the Washington Monument elevator today? Of course! The velocity (2.6 m/s) is a little faster than most elevators. Acceleration is lower than most. Max position of 153 m compares well with 500 ft height of observation level. #ITeachPhysics

Check out the Integrated Acceleration Tool in @phyphox.org. It calculates and graphs velocity and position data for each direction of acceleration. This is my takeoff from the Minneapolis airport Saturday. I stopped recording data just as the wheels lifted off the runway. #ITeachPhysics
position, velocity, and acceleration vs time graphs of a plane taking off from the runway. The position is a concave up curve going from 0 to 1120 m, the velocity is a concave down curve going from 0 to 37 m/s, the acceleration is a noisy straight line with a negative slope starting at 2 m/s/s and ending at about 0.
