Look at the Reform-Con collective. 45%. That's less than it has been in a long time (last election excluded.) The fact is Labour may be unpopular, but the right overall is way more unpopular than the leftist-centrist block.

London killing it as usual.

The argument is certainly true when it comes to income taxes. We mustn't tax workers more. But, look at the slices coming from capital gains, corporation tax, and others. It's tiny in comparison. Yet, capital is growing at much faster rates than the overall economy. It needs to be taxed more.

Not when you’re being taxed effectively 55% (including student loans) on 60k salary, 40% of which after tax goes on rent.

IMO that’s a consequence of the lack of a real ‘executive’ with real powers. Almost everything government does is through acts of parliament. It prevents nutcases like Trump running wild, but als people like FDR (except in exceptional times like Attlee) making difficult but long term good decision.

Advanced capitalism for you. We have like 3-4 people calling the shots on the productivity of millions of workers around the world.

The poor little things are trying so hard to get back all the voters they dropped to Reform. The problem is they think the voters are stupid racists who went to Reform cos of their stupid racism. Not the fact that the Cons broke the country.

The authorities will still need a warrant. The problem isn't the authorities. The problem is all the malicious actors that now have easy access to our records and data. Fucking stupid.
February 21, 2025 at 3:57 PM
I am much less worried about the government using it maliciously than them leaving us exposed through idiocy. And they've done just that.

We’ve seen this scale of national self sabotage before with Thatcher and Reagan, but never coupled with so much international self sabotage. The US will have to pull out all the stops in 4 (or maybe 2) years if it wants to reconnect with the rest of the democratic world.

Will definitely try it out eventually.

Well yea, I agree with her. Inclusive British culture is much better and more productive than reclusive idiot MAGA culture, Imperialist Russian culture, or oppressive Chinese culture. Too bad she's so keen on wrecking it.

Starmer has to be careful not to end up being a Chamberlain.

Murray is a racist idiot. He forgets about all the proud South Africans who are ethnically European. Not to mention Australians, Americans, Zimbabweans, White Mexicans, the list goes on and on...

I'd rather AI see all the horrible shit that people post on the internet rather than some poor guy in a well-lit basement.

If it isn't cash in an envelope signed "thanks for the talk", it isn't worth it.

Risk of dependence, yes, but not addiction. I haven’t seen research that puts addiction risk for slow release above 1%.
January 24, 2025 at 12:41 PM
Not slow release or normal dose ADD meds. Almost zero risk of addiction, though ofc there is a risk of dependence (like coffee).

If it Cannymede, perhaps it shouldo stop trying

You think you’ve understood how the human mind thinks, with all its extremes. Then shit like this comes out of nowhere.
January 24, 2025 at 12:26 PM
I agree, 100%. We shouldn't divide people left and right. But still, we need a group to exist out there to fight for worker rights, and that tends to be the left.
January 23, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Of course I care about that, even though I am not black. I don't respect him overall, but I do respect that he goes after both left and right. We need people out there who are able to reach a wide audience and criticise the right, and unfortunately we in the left are not good at that.
January 23, 2025 at 8:41 PM
Who's we? There has to be a healthy diversity of opinions here. I disagree with Schulz on a lot, but he hits the right as much as the left. I respect him for that.
