I think that’s the presupposition for a lot of this discussion, but it also seems that the models continually accomplish tasks they “can’t” (like understand context), and we close doors to where there may be real advantages for real people. I’ve been convinced to say “can’t yet” much more often.

I had a boss whose superpower seemed to be sincerely apologizing for things that were not his fault. He came out looking empathetic and effective every time and the organization was much better for it.

I’m not deeply expert in this and most of my WCAG work is in brand design, but the evolution of machine generated text from “a man walks along a street” to “George Clooney walks along Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, California” seems like meaningful progress to me. I’d certainly love more context.

I’ve seen the evolution go from very generic to startlingly accurate for specific places, actions and sentiment. I see a lot of potential for backfilling noncompliant areas. That’s all I’m positing.
