Like I'm not gonna abandon it completely or the friends I have within the Touhou fandom... it's just for the foreseeable future, anything I make will probably be my own thing instead of a Touhou thing.

You can argue that that video games have been the victim of commodification, but so has literally every single other form of art.

Just the same as any other piece of art, video games have intention behind every single part of it. Someone had to decide what to put where, and how the player should feel when doing a certain thing. Video games are just multiple forms of art stitched together into an interactive experience.

Just because people may not treat them as art does not make them not art. Art is literally anything with thought and intention behind it. It's supposed to make you feel a certain way you interact with that. Video games do that all the same as every other piece of media.
