Kind of? They're built to be drop in/drop out. Think of it like an episode of any kind of american drama show. There's a self contained story in an episode, but hints toward an overarching plot.

I love imagining this from the POV of someone who passed the save. Just a random assortment of 4 people whistling and walking down the center of main street as everyone gives them a wide berth so they can pass. While you, the only commoner who passed the save stares on in confusion.

The issue is people tend to dump a meals worth of calories of fat and sugar into their coffee.

As someone who started with an atari, and has had just about every system since... There's a reason that the gamecube controller is still getting adapted to work on new consoles.

I think it depends on what the source of your burnout is. Discovering that is step one.

I've had burnout do to disinterested players, where the solution is "talk to your players about it"

I recently realized I was doing WAY too much work DM'ing DnD which was causing burnout so swapped systems.

I was definitely ready to be disappointed since it flew under the radar. Insanely hype how much more stuff is coming down the pipeline from them.

Easily my favorite souls-like of all time. As I was doing my 4th playthrough, I realized why I loved it SO MUCH more then other souls games. At every point in the game you feel strong, but your enemies feel stronger. Like a demigod fighting gods instead of a worm fighting birds.

I'd say for the majority of games no. "Defeat Goras Heikalyn" doesn't really tell me who that is, or what it even really means. Unless there's a twist boss like... I dunno you're playing mario and there's a "defeat princess peaches doppelganger" achievement. That should be hidden.

Achievements are nice, but I think in the age of the internet the only time hidden achievements should be used is to hide story spoilers.

tbf I think your perception is being affected by the stereotype. Football fans also have a LOT of childish people in their midst. Low impulse control, quick to anger, and childish in their fear of appearing childish.

2 is getting a bit too nitpicky imo. If the unlocks don't change gameplay beyond aesthetics, I think it can still be called a roguelike.
