Support your public library.

Get a library card because it can help libraries get funding.

There was actually a puzzle table at my library today. And lots of folks hanging out there getting books and on the computer. Children can get homework help.

Love the Library ❤️📚

Every Saturday, the Velshi Banned Book Club is on. This week, the banned book discusses was The Grapes of Wrath. Almost 100 years after it was published this story is still relevant today, sadly. If you read it in high school, before it was banned, it’s time to read it again.

Globally, democratic societies need to band together and devise strategies to combat the propaganda machines that are coming for every election.

It’s so scary what is happening.

And don’t forget Kari Lake running Voice of America.
We are about to experience a global propaganda machine. It’s about to get much worse. Thank you to all those protest voters.

4 yrs ago, the US potus incited his mob on the US Capitol to overturn an election result he didn’t like. Many were hurt, many died.

4 yrs later, that same potus has been reelected to defile the Oval Office again.

We need to build our communities b/c these next few yrs will be really bad. #Jan6

Sadly, he invited Trump to the WH on Jan 20. And he’ll be present for the inauguration. What do we expect though? He’s doing what is expected of the democratic process.

Finished my first kids book of 2025. Wonderful and beautiful story by Peter Brown. I loved the intersection of the technological and natural worlds, but what I loved most was the full immersion in this ecosystem and living wildly off the grid. Surprisingly, it’s a great parenting story too.

So weird…a week from today is January 6th.

We could have had a different future.

Shopped at my local bookstore today for Small Business Saturday. Such a great book shop. I purchased seven books, five of which are for my classroom. The shop was packed with people too. For the holidays, I’m only getting books locally. NO to Amazon #BookSky #SmallShop

For National Native American Heritage Day, a way for children to learn about different indigenous nations is to read about them. This wonderful and beautifully illustrated story, “What Your Ribbon Skirt Means to Me,” by Interior Secy Deb Haaland, is rich in history and family. #KidLit #EduSky
