The cover story is something I always have in mind, the opportunity they had to actually change their oath but they instead returned to become cp0, I really hope Oda considers making them break free of cp and save those kids from Guanhao and become bounty hunters🙏

Or was there some kind of contract or money involved?. I really think a lot about CP9 and how tragic they are, being trained so they can't even have a chance to become normal citizens so they return back to what they know, something familiar even if it probably hurt them a lot :(

I honestly don't believe that there's retirement in cipher pol but the fact Spamdine is still alive makes me have so many questions, I wonder then where is Kumadori's mother now if she is not with the wg then, also, how did she abandon Kumadori? Did she leave him alone and the wg found him? -

And it makes sense that Kumadori's mother isn't actually related to the wg since she is still alive, I also believe that the wg really kills its agents once they start becoming useless, the information they possess is so important that they can't let them go free, which means that Laskey is dead

Since in the wg's eyes they are disposable, as seen how the wg tried to took down cp9 and it seems that it will take a while to rise the next generation of cp agents as seen in the cover story, which probably means that the unit of cp9 is inexistent in the actual story for lack of experienced people

I highly doubt that they actually have enough personnel for cp9 since Nero didn't even master rokushiki in its entirety when introduced, I would guess the wg is actually running out of people to at least take a position as a cp9 because of how they take the liberty of taking agents out -

I really hoped that they could become revolutionaries or pirate hunters, but I guess that at this point, it would be impossible. And I also hope that the kids from Guanhao can be saved in any way!!, it would be amazing if CP9 themselves do it, hope Oda hears us and decides to do something with them!

- opportunity by not animating that cover story, and also Oda missed the chance of making them have character development because at the end of cover story, it showed us how they said goodbye to Guanhao after protecting it of marines, showing an opportunity of CP9 turning their backs to the wg

- without the wg controlling their actions. I have a lot of thoughts about that cover story because it really showed us how they still have a bond despite fighting a lot between the members and how they got each other's backs so they can help Lucci with his medical fees, I think Toei missed an-

That's why the CP9 cover story made me so sad at the end, because as you said, they didn't know any better to come back home after seeing that they wouldn't be able to blend with the civilians because they had their violence too marked on their lifestyle even if they had a chance to be happy -

The fact that Lucci mentioned being trained since kids without any importance sent me to a spiral of how the wg literally takes advantage of the innocence and naivety of children to apply their propaganda and mold them into their ideals of "justice" which is so obviously immoral and dark

I also agree with the possibility of Kalifa's mother to have an agreement with the wg so both of her daughters can be sent to become agents, and if she is not dead,then she's probably on retirement like Kumadori's mother on a distant island

- in a place where no kid should be subject of such torturous training to become assassins and how they got (along with the rest of the CP9 members) forbidden to express attachment to anything or anyone because they could be distracted from their goal of being loyal to the wg, it breaks my heart :(

- to form the division again, it would be nice to have any mention about what has become of CP9 as a wg secret unit, but I guess we'll have to wait :(. And I completely agree with the parallels between Kalifa and Kumadori!!, both being trained and abandoned by their biological parents and growing up

If I remember correctly, in the CP9 cover story, there is one part where it shows the kids training at Guanhao so I guess that those kids will be selected to become the next CP9 but I guess that it will take some time, or maybe for now they'll recruit the best agents from the other divisions

And those staff probably took care of the kids since none of them had any parental care on all those years they spent on guanhao. It would be funny that Oda just thought that the name looked cool and kept it that way but even so, I wish he could write a spin off about CP9 and their pasts😔

In Guanhao, I think the wg probably erased its existence in maps so people wouldn't know about the wg training kids there to become assassins, so there's no way there are normal civilians, so yes Guanhao is populated by wg staff so no kid escapes and no information about their training is leaked

- so they become people without any legal identification. Now also, what happens to an agent's partner if they ever had a baby like Kalifa's case? Did Laskey kill his partner because the mom wasn't an agent? Because if she was an agent, it would make sense for her to be alive, same with Kumadori

My confusion with Laskey and Kalifa was because in the vivre card, it was mentioned that they were from a family of assassins so I wondered then why don't have a surname but the vivre card isn't a reliable source so at this point I just believe that the wg erase their family records -

It's impossible that a lot of young kids survive such hard training, so it makes sense why CP9 had just around 8 people and now that I think about it, I think there were the only ones mentioned being a CP9 along with Nero, and now that they become CP0, I wonder what happened to the division now

I'm begging Oda to give us answers because the whole cipher pol organization is full of mysteries😭 and also pleading for Lucci's name gets to be explained or I will start thinking Rob is actually a name instead of a surname, or even think that Oda did it as a silly mistake which I refuse to believe!

Why can Lucci keep his surname but Kalifa and Kumadori can't? And what is even weirder, Laskey, Kalifa's father, also doesn't have a surname, it's just his name too. Does the wg erase their family records with their surnames? Would make sense since CP9 is unknown to the public so is every member

All CP9 members had to be very young so they can have similar control of all arts of rokushiki. And as you are saying, since Lucci is officially from Guanhao, then did they find him as a new born baby and raised him? Or was his family also of cipher pol agents?
