We just watched this again, it’s been years, and enjoyed their frantic energy and fun. The ending with a performance of about six songs lets you appreciate their harmonies and modal jumps.

Salute to those who did this on Thanksgiving. I ate C-Rations on TDY along the Mekong River in Thailand in June and July 1964, but was at Ubon in November which had a good mess hall.

In 1958 businessmen or wealthy vacationers were among the few who could afford to fly. Tickets on Pan Am were astronomically expensive — $505 for a “deluxe” one-way ticket and $272 for an economy class one-way flight, the equivalent of $5,639 and $3,307 today.

The official dedication ceremony for Soldier Field was held on Nov. 27, 1926, in front of a crowd of 110,000 during the Army vs. Navy game. The game ended in a 21-21 tie. The field first opened as Municipal Grant Park Stadium on Oct. 9, 1924. (Chicago Herald and Examiner)
