Our recently fledged Blackbird siblings were out and about for breakfast this morning. The difference in their plumage is quite striking even though I think they are both females. #birds 🪶

One of the two blackbirds that fledged from the nest in our porch earlier this summer and it seems quite happy to hop round the garden even when we are there. I think it's a young female and I haven't seen one with a grey bib before. @rspbengland.bsky.social @rspb.bsky.social #birds 🪶

The wood pigeons are at it again, building another nest in the wisteria beneath our bedroom windows. I say building, the nest usually comprises a few sticks chucked together precariously on a branch but it seems to do the job. #birds 🪶 @rspb.bsky.social @rspbengland.bsky.social

Our Blue Tits are working all day to feed their hatchlings in the bird box and it seems exhausting work. Apparently a brood of 10 needs about 10,000 caterpillars before they fledge! #Birds 🪶 @rspbengland.bsky.social @rspb.bsky.social
