Can you fact check the method by which the speed of an ostrich was measured? Is there video? Why were they chasing an ostrich? How may ostriches couldn’t outrun the car?

It’s a winding tale but this book inspired my son and I to get our reader cards at the Library of Congress. Really appreciate stories like this. I’ve been obsessed with cities and power since learning the history of Robert Moses. Now I see it everywhere.

Learned to love Andre Baugher in a good cop show watching Homicide (thank heavens it’s streaming) and Brooklyn 99. Gets a dopamine hit every time he sees parts of Baltimore he recognizes in a show. Learning that things are complicated. Sick of not getting his my references to shows he can’t watch.
