You can get incredible value from a barbell and a few weights with freestanding lifts (squat, pull, standing overhead press, etc).

Freestanding lifts with full range of motion can give a large stimulus even with light weight.

Just eat real food in balance (quality meat, carbs, fat). Eat several meals per day in a schedule.

Most lifters are probably bottlenecked on quality carbohydrates for energy, than protein for muscle growth.

imo socialist and capitalist are 0% technical meaning at this moment, and 100% vibes / group identification. Trump is attempting a command economy fever dream built on coercion and grift, but is nominally the "capitalist" guy.

Writing a math program to optimize a problem subject to constraints is straightforward even if complicated.

Asking a program to create Jolly Roger Bay with the right music is not

Tbh graphics hit diminishing returns 10 years ago? Video games made huge leaps from 8 bit to 16 to 64 but, but it's not like 128 but will ever be a thing.

Same will be true of AI. They made impressive gains by throwing more training data, up to size of entire internet. Where do you go from there?

Very solvable, the same way your computer can verify it's connecting to the right host and not a man in the middle.

Digital signatures with unique private key burned into the camera device at manufacturer.

Public keys could be distributed in certs or something.

I just want to register displeasure with someone saying "carry us back to the middle ages" when the early modern era was arguably equally if not more more insane

It's amazing for stuff with lots of training data (writing bash scripts), but awful and hallucinatory for gritty details (linux kernel work, weird nuances of NIST SP publications, etc).

I started dabbling in wine for Linux gaming and so far performance is better on Linux than Windows 😂

I may abandon Win entirely over the 11 crap

Fedora is streamlined and brainless to setup tbh.

Literally the slowest step in setting up dual boot Win / Fedora is booting Windows for the first time.

yes, there is an enormous amount of destruction happening. but the idea that there is some irrecoverable golden age being destroyed is loser mindset. the idea that we cannot create, only preserve is dead as a doornail. wake up and smell the 21st century.
