just bought a copy of the odyssey - i especially appreciate the text presentation on the page - was astounded that the local barnes and noble had exactly one copy available! so looking forward to the introduction - scanning it was fascinating.

my most lasting impression is that the narrator could benefit in giving himself a break - i.e. "I don't have a brain for complexity and systems." (p.264) and then indeed the narrator goes on to describe the complexity of a potato(?) chip -

just finished reading Small Rain - found it to be a compelling read: at times claustrophobic, frightening, passages that provoked self-reflection and comfortable/uncomfortable memories, sweet, insightful and compassionate.
