Being a lifelong trout snob, I considered bass one notch above trash fish, but now I admit I was wrong. Catching bass on a fly on a warm, summer evening is one of my favorite things.

I will never get tired of catching cutthroats from a cool, clear mountain river.

Haven't posted a hero shot lately, cuz, uh, haven't caught anything worthy of one. Yellowtail in Baja. Some of the most physically challenging fishing I've done, but what a blast.

First bass on the fly for 2025, and the first fish in my new fishing kayak. Twas a fine day, and a scrappy little pond pickle.

Today's Brundage scenery 10/10. Slopes were good, too. Guess spring is here, ready or not.

Thanks to my wife, @seeshell4homes.bsky.social, crack research I learned a flock of mallards on the ground is a "sord." I wanted to come up with a cool name for them, but they already have one. Sord isn't that cool of a name, though. I was thinking a "maelstrom" of mallards.

Whenever I start dreaming of traveling to some foreign, exotic destination I remind myself other people see where I live as foreign and exotic, too, and there are adventures to be found in my own backyard.
